Incorporating Plants

Have you ever thought about adding some plants in your home decor? The use of plants in your home decor can make your space more appealing but also provide health benefits. Plants help to reduce stress and anxiety, filter the air, and increase productivity. With the added health benefits, including a plant or two in your decor doesn’t seem like a bad idea at all. Here are some tips on incorporating plants into your home decor:

Analyze You Space

Look at the room and space you’d like to add a plant. Look for areas where that are bright and open or areas where you’d like to add more static decor. Looking from different angles and perspectives can help in placing the  plant(s).

Pick a Plant

Look at different types of plants and see which ones would look best with your current home decor. Have a few options to work with and choose from.

Avoid Clutter

The plant(s) should help the room flow not feel cluttered. Allow space for the plants to breathe and flow through the room.

Go Big

Larger plants are statement pieces in a room. Opt for a larger plant if you have a more minimalistic design style. They can emphasize a certain part of your design. Avoid larger plants if you have a lot of decor elements or if the plant  is too big for the space, it will feel crowded.

Keep It Small

Smaller plants are cute and perfect accent pieces. Smaller plants are typically less maintenance, so you can have a few throughout your home without having to do too much to keep them healthy. The most common small plants are cacti, aloe, air plants and English ivy.

Choose a Pot

Carefully choose a pot that goes with your design. The pot you choose can make a huge difference and also create the look and feel you want in the room.
